Source Édition: A Reissue That Flows Naturally

Founded in 2025, Source Édition is a new publishing house with a unique mission: to bring back to light designers from the 1950s to 1970s whose often visionary work has fallen into obscurity.
Reissues are above all a matter of passion. This is what the mother-daughter duo Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi demonstrate with the creation of Source Édition, in partnership with the Mobilier National. Their goal? To revive a generation of major creators from the 1950s to 1970s whose avant-garde and visionary works have been forgotten. By setting this objective, Source Édition shines a light on an essential chapter of European design — one that successfully combined function and poetry, making it both modern and foundational for generations of designers. This desire to preserve and transmit a heritage takes shape through the faithful reissue of emblematic creations in collaboration with the original designers or their heirs. Pieces signed by André Monpoix (with the Mobilier National), Turenne Chevallereau (with the Mobilier National), Giuseppe Rivadossi, Ben Swildens, and Claude Courtecuisse are produced with extreme attention to detail.
A First Showroom in Paris
After acclaimed exhibitions during Milan Design Week, at the Mobilier National, and at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris — where the installation continues until November 19 — Source Édition has taken a new step by inaugurating its permanent showroom near Place des Victoires (Paris 2nd arrondissement) in early October. On this occasion, two new pieces were unveiled: the Dialogue lounge chair by André Monpoix, presented for the first time in leather. Designed in 1967 at the request of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, this emblematic piece left a lasting mark on 20th-century furniture design. Another highlight is the Jumelles lamp by Ben Swildens, a 1970s classic with a hand-crafted brushed aluminum finish and twin hand-blown glass globes — making each piece unique, with slight variations. It is now available in an elegant Antic Red finish.

All reissued pieces are entirely made in France and Italy, showcasing sustainable materials and exceptional craftsmanship, in line with an ethical and environmentally respectful approach. The new showroom is not only a point of sale with stock available — collectors, architects, and design enthusiasts can discover exclusive reissues and even purchase certain pieces on-site — but also a space for art exhibitions, in collaboration with partner art galleries.
