Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi

Source Édition was born from a dialogue between a mother and daughter, two trajectories, two sensibilities, and one shared conviction: that great design, when it disappears from circulation, takes something irreplaceable with it. Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi founded the house to bring it back, with rigour, with care, and with the full blessing of those who created it.

Few people have shaped the landscape of French design from the inside as durably as Isabelle de Ponfilly. For over twenty years, she served as CEO of Vitra France, playing a central role in bringing contemporary design to professional audiences, collectors, and the general public. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with leading designers, manufacturers, and cultural institutions, and today maintains strong ties with some of France's most prestigious public bodies, including the Mobilier national, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and the Centre national des arts plastiques.

In recognition of her lifelong commitment to design, cultural heritage, and the promotion of French excellence, she has been named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur.

Joséphine Bursacchi founded Source Parisienne in 2019, a gallery dedicated to mid-century design. Driven by her passion for historical pieces, curatorial precision, and artisanal savoir-faire, she has built a carefully curated network of collectors, designer estates, and expert workshops. Alongside Source Parisienne, she worked in the contemporary art world, notably as director of Andréhn-Schiptjenko Paris, where she collaborated with major international artists and institutions.

With Source Édition, Joséphine has turned this conviction into a house, and a practice.
