Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi
Source Édition was born from a unique mother-daughter collaboration. Together, Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi combine two generations, two backgrounds, and a shared passion for european design heritage and craftsmanship.
Isabelle de Ponfilly is a widely respected figure in the international design world. For over twenty years, she served as CEO of Vitra France, playing a major role in promoting contemporary design to professional audiences, collectors, and the general public. Over the years, she has worked closely with leading designers, manufacturers, and cultural institutions, and today maintains strong collaborations with some of France’s most prestigious public bodies, including the Mobilier national, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD), and the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP).
In recognition of her lifelong commitment to design, cultural heritage, and the promotion of French excellence, she has been named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur, two of France’s highest distinctions.
Joséphine Bursacchi founded Source Parisienne in 2019, a gallery dedicated to mid-century design. Driven by her passion for historical pieces, curatorial precision, and artisanal savoir-faire, she has built a carefully curated network of collectors, designer estates, and expert workshops. Along Source Parisienne, Joséphine worked in the contemporary art world, notably as director of Andréhn-Schiptjenko Paris, where she collaborated with major international artists and institutions.
With Source Édition, she has expanded this work into a dedicated publishing house for historically significant design, balancing heritage preservation with contemporary relevance.
