A Publisher to watch
Noticed during Paris Design Week with the launch of Source Édition, the mother-daughter duo formed by Isabelle de Ponfilly and Joséphine Bursacchi is inaugurating their first Parisian boutique.
Formerly the director of Vitra France, Isabelle knows the inner workings of contemporary design. Joséphine, with a background in the art market and vintage furniture, shares the same passion. Together, they founded Source Édition, a brand dedicated to reissuing forgotten creations from the 1950s to the 1970s — a period of great creative effervescence. By establishing a partnership with the Atelier de Recherche et de Création of the Mobilier National, the two editors gained access to its archives, selecting their favorite pieces to reproduce in Europe using sustainable materials. Among these reissues are seating by André Monpoix, originally designed for the office of Simone Veil, then Minister of Health, and the modular tables by Turenne Chevallereau.
Other pieces soon followed — a lamp by Ben Swildens, a porcelain soliflore by Claude Courtecuisse, and benches by Giuseppe Rivadossi. A remarkable debut that now continues with the opening of their new Paris showroom.
