BY NATHALIE DEGARDIN

The first, Isabelle de Ponfilly, faced the challenges of industrial production as the head of Vitra France; the second, Joséphine Bursacchi, founded a vintage furniture gallery. Mother and daughter in life, they have combined their passions and experiences to launch the brand Source Édition, with one goal: to bring back to life design pieces from the 1950s to the 1970s, adapting them to the expectations of our time.

How did the idea for Source Édition come about?

Isabelle de Ponfilly: Source Édition is based on Source Parisienne, a company that Joséphine founded in 2019, which was a vintage furniture gallery. It was actually at the request of her clients—who were asking for pieces she couldn't find—that the idea was born: to combine her expertise in original pieces with my technical knowledge acquired through years of developing new products.

Why choose reissues from the 1950s to the 1970s?

Joséphine Bursacchi: It's a period of creative effervescence when design took a radical turn. The designers of that era succeeded in combining functionality, elegance, and modernity—values we want to carry forward. This period also reflects strong social and cultural engagement, which makes it all the more relevant today.
