Design & History
Design & History
Designed by Turenne Chevallereau in 1968, the TU-TU pieces were years ahead of flat-pack furniture: the legs slide into the corners of the top and the piece stands, without a single tool. It comes apart just as easily, to follow you from one home to the next.
The name plays on the tenon and mortise of traditional joinery, and on the designer's own first name and nickname. Source Édition reissues TU-TU in partnership with the Mobilier national, crafted in Europe.

Turenne Chevallereau
Turenne Chevallereau brought industry and craft together in furniture of rare ingenuity. His work with the Mobilier national in the late 1960s explored modularity and flat-pack assembly long before they became common.
